From Inefficiency to Excellence:

When one Charge Point Operator struggled with inefficiencies and inconsistent service, we helped them transform their operations. Through process mapping, root cause analysis, and targeted training, we streamlined workflows, empowered staff, and enhanced the EV driver experience—proving that small changes create big results.

How Incremental Changes Transformed Operations and the EV Driver Experience.

Small Changes, Big Impact: Creating a Seamless and Reliable EV Charging Experience.

When we first partnered with one of our CPO clients, they faced a familiar challenge: evolving from a reactive approach to a well-structured, efficient, and customer-focused operation. Their team was working hard, but without clear processes and a unified approach, staff were often left to figure things out on their own. This led to inconsistencies in service, inefficiencies, and frustrations, both internally and for customers.

To address this, we began with a detailed process mapping exercise to break down the entire customer journey. This helped us visually identify inefficiencies, delays, and blockers that were preventing the team from delivering a seamless experience. By mapping out every stage, we provided clarity on where the biggest challenges lay and ensured that the team had a full picture of how their roles impacted the overall process.

Once we had identified the problem areas, we conducted a root cause analysis to dig deeper into why these inefficiencies were happening. Rather than making assumptions, we worked directly with the team to uncover the real reasons behind delays, miscommunication, and inconsistencies. By involving them in this analysis, we ensured that any changes were based on real, actionable insights rather than surface-level fixes.

With the root causes identified, we moved on to implementing targeted improvements to resolve the issues. These changes addressed the gaps in operational efficiency, streamlined key processes, and introduced more structured ways of working. However, making changes was only part of the solution, we needed to ensure they were embedded properly.

To do this, we rewrote the organisation’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect the new ways of working. These provided clear, structured guidance for the team, ensuring that everyone followed the same processes and reducing the risk of inconsistencies creeping back in. The SOPs became a central reference point, reinforcing best practices and providing ongoing clarity for staff at every level.

Once the new processes were in place, we ran a hands-on workshop to empower the frontline team. This training didn’t just focus on technical knowledge and process changes; it also encouraged staff to put themselves in the customers’ shoes. By helping them understand the journey from the customer’s perspective, the team gained a deeper appreciation of how their actions impacted the overall experience. The workshop also equipped them with the confidence to handle tricky situations, provide empathetic support, and ensure that customers felt heard and valued.

This structured approach, process mapping, root cause analysis, targeted improvements, SOP development, and team training ensured that changes were sustainable, not just short-term fixes. Staff felt more equipped, customers experienced a smoother journey, and the overall service became more efficient and responsive.

The impact was clear: increased confidence within the team, a more seamless customer experience, and a shift from firefighting problems to proactively enhancing operations. For our client, this transformation wasn’t just about compliance or ticking boxes; it was about delivering a service that built trust, encouraged repeat use, and positioned them as leaders in their field.

At Full Circle CI, we know that small, incremental changes can have a big impact. By systematically identifying problems, addressing their root causes, and empowering teams with the knowledge and tools to succeed, we help organisations move from inconsistency to excellence, ensuring that every interaction delivers real value.
